About the Position

We are looking for a full-time Cook to join our dining services team. In this role, you’ll prepare nutritious, appealing meals for our residents while following established menus, recipes, food safety standards, and dietary requirements.


This is a great opportunity for an experienced cook who enjoys working with people and wants to put their culinary skills to work in a meaningful healthcare environment—without the demanding schedule often associated with restaurant kitchens.


Schedule:

  • Full-time
  • 11:00 AM–7:30 PM
  • Every other weekend

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and cook meals according to established menus and recipes
  • Follow appropriate food preparation, portioning, and presentation standards
  • Accommodate special diets and dietary restrictions as directed
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and food preparation area
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection-control procedures
  • Assist with meal service and ensure residents receive meals in a timely manner
  • Monitor food quality and freshness
  • Work collaboratively with dietary and nursing staff
  • Provide friendly, respectful service to Veterans and residents

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys preparing food for others.


Ideal candidates will have:

  • Previous cooking or food service experience preferred
  • Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and safe food-handling practices
  • Ability to follow recipes and menus
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Reliable attendance and a positive attitude
  • Experience cooking in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Requires proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Basic computer skills
