The mission of Miami Children's Museum, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational institution, is to enrich the lives of children by fostering a love of learning through play and enabling children to realize their highest potential. Visitors of all ages are encouraged to play, learn, imagine, and create together. The Museum is dedicated to meeting the needs of all children in our multicultural community through interactive exhibits and programs. Miami Children’s Museum was incorporated as the Miami Youth Museum in 1983. In 2003, the Museum opened its current home, a 56,500 square foot facility in the City of Miami. Today, we are recognized as one of the 10 largest children's museums in the country and the only children’s museum in Miami-Dade County. The Museum provides hands-on interactive educational experiences to approximately 445,000 children and their families each year. We aim to serve all children and families who live in South Florida, embracing the diversity of our community. The Museum is also a major attraction for tourists coming to South Florida.
About the Role

Are you friendly, energetic, and passionate about creating memorable experiences for families? Miami Children’s Museum is looking for an enthusiastic Museum Ticket Sales Associate to serve as one of the first welcoming faces our visitors meet!


In this role, you’ll help create a positive experience from the moment guests arrive. You’ll greet visitors, assist with admission purchases, answer questions, promote Museum memberships, and ensure the ticketing area runs smoothly and efficiently.


What You'll Do

  • Welcome visitors with a friendly smile and positive attitude
  • Assist guests with purchasing Museum admission tickets
  • Open, operate, and close the point-of-sale system
  • Reconcile cash drawers accurately at the end of the day
  • Share the benefits of Museum membership and encourage membership purchases
  • Enter membership information into the Altru database
  • Answer phone calls and provide helpful information to visitors
  • Deliver excellent customer service throughout every interaction
  • Assist with additional duties as needed

Requirements

  • At least one year of verifiable customer service and/or sales experience
  • Experience using modern sales techniques and point-of-sale equipment
  • A positive, enthusiastic, and professional approach to working with the public
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills
  • Dependability, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred
