M&D Supply was founded in 1967 when Mary Mitchell, E. W. McCown, and Jack Dyson started a business venture to supply local farm hands with needed supplies. The company has grown from its humble start to now employing more than one-hundred people in three locations.
About the Role
Description
The Salesfloor Manager at M&D Supply is responsible for educating, inspiring, energizing and leading a high-performance team. This position focuses on customer loyalty and developing a culture that differentiates us from our competition. The Salesfloor Manager position reports to the Store Manager.
Supervisory Duties
- Hiring - recruit, identify, screen and select qualified applicants for open positions
- Training and development – facilitate the learning of job related knowledge, skills and behavior
- Budgeting – develop an annual financial plan for resource allocation and monitor variances throughout the year
- Planning and Scheduling - develop goals and strategies to coordinate operational activities
- Leading – work with and through people to accomplish execute M&D’s value proposition
- Conflict management - recognize / respond incompatible differences between employees and customers and promote solutions
- Discipline – work with GM to administer corrective action when employees fail to meet attendance, performance or conduct requirements
- Appraisal - evaluate aspects of employee performance in accordance with performance standards including assisting GM with preparing and administrating employee performance reviews
- Plan and conduct one on one meetings with employee reports
- Plan and conduct staff meetings
- Train team members on new policies and procedures
- Administer routine walk/grading/ testing for team members (ad executioner, sales, cashier)
- Administer safety program including safety bingo program
- Develop employee schedule
- Attend Manager Meetings and training seminars
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be 18 years old or older
- 6 months to one year in related fields and/or previous management experience
- Be able to obtain Forklift certification and LP gas certification.
Work Requirements

- Physical activity includes: Stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion.
- Physical requirements: Must be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must be able lift at least 80 lbs with assistance and 40 lbs without assistance, repeatedly from the ground to waist level.
- Visual acuity requirements: Branch store managers are required to have the visual acuity to perform activities such as: item identification, preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts at distances close to the eyes. They are required to have acuity to accurately measure and cut building materials and to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures. They must be able to operate machines such as key machine, forklift, POS/eagle browser, computers, security systems, and power saws, LPG filling equipment, and power tools where the seeing job is at or within arm’s reach. They must be able to operate cash register, POS Program, Eagle Browser, open office.
