Responsible for leading firearm regulatory and compliance policy maintenance and risk mitigation related to National Firearms Act (NFA)-controlled products for production and distribution. Develops ITAR and export policy and manages licensing and distribution channel compliance. Daily duties include working directly with ATF and NFA branches to ensure timely registration and transfer of all NFA-regulated items. In addition to those responsibilities, this role leads internal audits of business processes, procedures, and physical product control. Regular review and revision of internal compliance controls and training as laws and regulations change by executive, legislative, or judicial actions at both the state and federal levels.

Responsibilities

  

· Confirms compliance policies and practices adhere to NFA, ATF, ITAR, and DoD regulations. 

· Ensures accurate ATF Form creation, Bound Book entry, transaction records for serialized inventories. 

· Maintains up-to-date knowledge of legislative and regulatory action related to product production, distribution, transfer, and exportation.

· Supervises Compliance Administrator and ensures all compliance processes are trained & followed.

· Serves as contact for ATF and law enforcement compliance inquiries. 

· Demonstrates exceptional listening skills with a strong attention to detail.

· Demonstrates exceptional time management and organization skills.

· Delivers pragmatic, risk-based direction.

· Understands and facilitates government and DoD contracting opportunities.

· Understands and enforces import and export regulations and rules of origin.

· Demonstrates self-initiative and calls to action.

· Demonstrates a positive attitude.

· Communicates professionally and effectively to all levels of the organization.



Requirements

Qualifications

  

· Must be a U.S. Citizen due to ITAR regulations.

· Bachelor’s degree.

· Working knowledge of ITAR compliance, export licensing, and DoD contract requirements. 

· 5+ years relevant experience in technology, firearms, defense, or related regulated industry.

· Firearms and NFA product-specific experience is preferred. 


Compensation
