Heartline Staffing is recruiting a Buyer for an onsite direct-hire opportunity in Prospect, Connecticut. This position supports a manufacturing operation through purchasing, production scheduling, inventory optimization, material coordination, supplier management, and the use of ERP/MRP systems to keep materials and production aligned with customer demand.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Buyer coordinates material requirements, capacity, purchasing, and production scheduling while optimizing inventory levels. The position works closely with suppliers, distributors, production, procurement, and logistics to prevent material shortages, maintain production continuity, and support on-time delivery.

This is a hands-on individual-contributor position with broad ownership of purchasing and scheduling for the production floor. The role requires practical manufacturing purchasing experience, strong ERP/MRP capabilities, inventory and material-planning skills, and the ability to independently manage supplier and production requirements.

COMPENSATION
• Salary: $55,000-$65,000 Per Year
• Eligible For Bonus Programs
• Bonus Payouts Expected In February / March 2027

PRODUCTION SCHEDULING
• Develop Weekly And Monthly Production Plans And Schedules
• Align Manufacturing Activities With Sales Forecasts And Customer Demand
• Coordinate Material Availability With Production Requirements
• Monitor Production Progress And Adjust Schedules For Changing Conditions
• Respond To Maintenance, Machine Downtime, Material Shortages And Changes In Demand

PURCHASING & MATERIAL COORDINATION
• Coordinate Supplier Purchases And Material Requirements
• Manage Supplier Lead Times And Material Availability
• Work With Distributors And Suppliers To Support Production Requirements
• Coordinate Purchasing, Payments And Shipping Requirements
• Support Domestic And International Supplier Coordination
• Resolve Material And Supply Issues That Could Affect Production

INVENTORY OPTIMIZATION
• Analyze Inventory Levels To Maintain Appropriate Stock
• Reduce Excess Inventory While Preventing Raw Material And Finished-Goods Shortages
• Maintain Accurate Material And Inventory Requirements
• Coordinate Inventory Needs With Production Schedules And Customer Demand

ERP / MRP MANAGEMENT
• Use ERP / MRP Systems To Support Purchasing, Material Requirements And Production Scheduling
• Release Manufacturing Orders And Maintain Inventory Records
• Use Manufacturing And Supply-Chain Data To Support Planning And Decision-Making
• Work With Systems Such As SAP, MES, Oracle Or Comparable ERP / MRP Platforms

TROUBLESHOOTING & PROCESS IMPROVEMENT
• Monitor Production And Material Progress
• Resolve Shortages, Supplier Issues And Scheduling Disruptions
• Identify Opportunities To Improve Production Efficiency
• Support Improvements In Inventory Management And Material Flow
• Reduce Waste And Support Improved On-Time Delivery

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Requirements

• 3-5 Years Of Buyer / Purchasing Experience REQUIRED
• Manufacturing Purchasing Experience REQUIRED
• Strong ERP / MRP Systems Proficiency REQUIRED
• Strong MS Excel / SQL Proficiency REQUIRED
• Experience With Purchasing And Production-Related Scheduling REQUIRED
