The Opportunity
As our Brisbane team continues to grow, we are seeking a Senior Civil Designer with advanced 12d Model experience to join our collaborative team of civil, geotechnical, water resources, and geological professionals.
This role is ideal for an experienced designer who enjoys working extensively within 12d Model to deliver practical, high-quality outcomes for the mining industry. You'll play a key role in the design and delivery of Tailings Storage Facilities (TSFs) and associated mine waste infrastructure, developing innovative and practical solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects.
Working closely with engineers and fellow designers, you'll leverage 12d Model to develop complex 3D models, undertake earthworks design and analysis, and produce construction-ready documentation while driving technical excellence and supporting the development of junior team members.
What You'll Do
Lead the development of conceptual, preliminary, and detailed civil designs using 12d Model.
Create, manage, and optimise complex 3D models for Tailings Storage Facilities (TSFs) and associated mining infrastructure.
Design and document tailings embankments, embankment raises, drainage systems, decant structures, spillways, containment structures, and large-scale earthworks.
Produce construction-ready drawings, digital deliverables, earthworks quantities, and design documentation directly from 12d Model.
Apply advanced 12d Model skills to develop efficient, accurate, and practical design solutions.
Collaborate with civil, geotechnical, water resources, environmental, and geological specialists to deliver integrated project outcomes.
Review and optimise designs to ensure compliance with project standards, client requirements, and industry best practice.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior designers, particularly in relation to 12d Model and digital design workflows.
Contribute technical input during design reviews, project planning, and problem-solving activities.
Support continuous improvement in design processes, modelling standards, and digital delivery workflows.
What You'll Bring
7+ years' experience in civil design and drafting, ideally within the mining or resources sector.
Advanced proficiency in 12d Model, with demonstrated experience developing detailed 3D designs and construction documentation for Tailings Storage Facilities (TSFs) and associated mining infrastructure.
Proven experience designing and modelling TSFs, embankment raises, seepage and drainage systems, decant structures, spillways, containment structures, and large-scale earthworks.
Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and digital design delivery processes.
Experience producing earthworks models, quantity calculations, staging plans, and construction-ready documentation using 12d Model.
A sound understanding of mine waste management infrastructure, dam safety principles, and relevant industry design standards.
Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality design outputs.
An Associate Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
The ability to provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior designers while contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
