Heartline Staffing is recruiting an Engineering & Maintenance Manager for an onsite manufacturing leadership opportunity in Ayer, Massachusetts. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for engineering, maintenance and facilities operations while driving capital projects, equipment reliability, preventive maintenance programs and plant improvement initiatives.

The Engineering & Maintenance Manager will lead engineering and maintenance teams, manage CAPEX projects, oversee equipment reliability programs and partner across Production, Quality, Supply Chain and other departments. The position also has responsibility for equipment startups, commissioning, IQ/OQ qualifications, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and continuous improvement while supporting safety, quality and operational excellence.

COMPENSATION
• $145,000-$155,000 Base Salary

ENGINEERING & MAINTENANCE LEADERSHIP
• Lead engineering, maintenance and facilities teams to support safe and efficient plant operations
• Hire, coach, develop and evaluate engineering and maintenance team members
• Develop engineering solutions that improve production, quality, safety and operational efficiency
• Support plant growth through effective engineering and maintenance leadership

CAPITAL PROJECTS
• Manage capital projects from planning through implementation
• Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
• Partner across departments on equipment installations, facility improvements and manufacturing projects
• Manage department budgets, contractors and third-party vendors

MAINTENANCE & EQUIPMENT RELIABILITY
• Oversee preventive maintenance programs
• Oversee CMMS and work order systems
• Manage spare parts inventory
• Drive equipment reliability initiatives
• Lead equipment troubleshooting and root cause analysis
• Support continuous improvement efforts

EQUIPMENT STARTUP & QUALIFICATION
• Lead equipment startups and commissioning
• Lead equipment qualifications including IQ/OQ
• Support equipment installations and manufacturing projects
• Partner with Production, Quality, Supply Chain and other departments

QUALITY & COMPLIANCE
• Support safe, high-quality and efficient plant operations
• Ensure compliance with GMP requirements
• Ensure compliance with food safety requirements
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards and applicable regulatory requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree REQUIRED
• 7 years of experience based on the platform requirement REQUIRED
• Ability to lead engineering, maintenance and facilities teams REQUIRED
• Experience managing capital projects from planning through implementation REQUIRED
• Experience managing project schedules and budgets REQUIRED
• Experience overseeing preventive maintenance programs, CMMS, work order systems, spare parts inventory and equipment reliability initiatives REQUIRED
• Experience developing engineering solutions supporting production, quality, safety and operational efficiency REQUIRED
• Experience managing department budgets, contractors and third-party vendors REQUIRED
