Ultium Cells, LLC. is a joint venture Lithium-ion automotive battery cell manufacturing plant between LG Energy Solution, Ltd., and General Motors. This high-technology plant is a new construction that will have the latest in battery cell manufacturing technology. This $2.3 billion investment will be among the largest battery cell manufacturing plants in the world. Ultium Cells will produce battery cells for General Motors’ North American electric vehicle applications.

About the Role:
The Lead HR Senior Specialist plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing human resources strategies that align with the organization's goals across the United States. This position is responsible for leading complex HR initiatives, providing expert guidance on employee relations, compliance, and talent management. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop policies and programs that enhance workforce engagement and productivity. The Lead HR Senior Specialist will also mentor and support junior HR staff, ensuring consistent application of best practices and regulatory requirements. Ultimately, this role drives the continuous improvement of HR processes to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
Responsibilities & Duties:
• Lead and manage employee relations cases, including conflict resolution, investigations, and disciplinary actions.
• Develop, implement, and communicate HR policies and procedures in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Partner with business leaders to identify workforce needs and develop talent acquisition and retention strategies.
• Provide coaching and guidance to managers and employees on performance management and career development.
• Analyze HR metrics and prepare reports to inform leadership decisions and improve organizational effectiveness.
• Oversee HR projects such as diversity and inclusion initiatives, employee engagement programs, and compliance audits.
• Manages or Supervises all junior HR Specialists
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
• At least 5 years of progressive experience in human resources, including employee relations and compliance.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations in the United States.
• Proven experience in handling complex employee relations issues and conducting investigations.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
• Professional HR certification such as SHRM-SCP or SPHR preferred.

Employee may be exposed to or working with hazardous materials and/or hazardous waste. Upon hire, employee will receive initial Environmental training over RCRA, SWPPP, SPCC, and emergency escalation. Annual refresher training will be completed every year after to fulfill the requirements of 40 CFR. Other training to be provided as required.
