Description
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Production Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of the manufacturing operation. This key role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling the production process to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, on time, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with proven experience in managing personnel, implementing lean principles, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This position is critical to maximizing plant productivity and profitability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and direct the daily manufacturing operations to meet scheduled production targets and customer delivery requirements.
- Manage, coach, and develop all production personnel, including Shift Supervisors and department Leads, to optimize performance and foster a positive culture.
- Monitor standard key performance indicators (KPIs) for productivity, on-time completion, scrap/rework rates, and equipment utilization (OEE).
- Enforce and promote all standard company safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment and full compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Drive the implementation and sustainment of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies (e.g., 5S, Kaizen) across all production lines according to company standards.
- Manage and communicate inventory management to optimize raw material flow, control inventory levels, and minimize lead times.
- Manage standard equipment maintenance protocols.
- Manage standard quality protocols.
Requirements
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Proven experience in a Production or Operations Manager role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, and quality management systems.
- Demonstrated leadership and people management skills, with experience supervising multiple shifts or departments.
- Expertise in Continuous Improvement methodologies (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt certification a plus).
