Position Purpose and Summary

The primary responsibility of the Customer Service Specialist (Fulfillment) is to support the membership of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. by processing and fulfilling Delta Store orders. This position will support routine, non-confidential information and orders for the organization’s chapters, members and the public, handling general Sorority-related inquiries and often using database files as a resource. This position will also serve as the primary staff member responsible for handling Delta Sigma Theta inventory and processing Delta Store orders and outgoing mail.


Duties and Responsibilities

• Handles and processes Delta Store orders and incoming/outgoing mail.

• Performs data entry upon request by the Director of the CSSC and the Administrative Senior Specialist, CSSC.

• During membership intake season, assists the membership intake fulfillment team with packing and shipping all membership intake materials to approved chapters as submitted by the Member Policies and Procedures Department. This includes maintaining shipment logs with package tracking information.

• Assists the Finance Department and Director of the CSSC in conducting inventory of all Delta Store items shipped by the organization, to include membership intake materials, on a recurring basis.

• Provides help desk services by responding to numerous, routine, non-confidential inquiries via a centralized ticketing system (telephone and emails) from chapters, members and the public. This includes, but is not limited to, change of personal data, request for membership numbers, chapter information, system identification numbers, order information and other member/chapter demographic information. Inquiries that require research are forwarded to the appropriate National Headquarters department/staff member for resolution.

• Assumes other duties at National Headquarters, national conventions and regional conferences as assigned.

• Assumes other general duties as assigned by the Director of the CSSC.


Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

• High school diploma, general education degree or equivalent.

• Must have a minimum of three (3) years of professional experience; be able to convey information verbally and in writing in a concise, accurate and prompt manner; and be very creative.

• Must have adequate data entry skills and be familiar with various software applications, including Microsoft Office 365, Adobe and Google Chrome.

• Must be self-motivated, organized, energetic and demonstrate initiative; be able to work under pressure and meet time-sensitive deadlines; and be flexible in carrying out various assignments.

• Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision.

• Must be able to consistently lift 25 to 50 lbs.

• Must be detail-oriented and able to multi-task.

• Must be able to travel as necessary for major events where staff participation is required.

• Relocation assistance is not available. Must reside within a 50-mile radius of National Headquarters by the start of work.
