Our ideal candidate is someone who will connect the community to our resources to further our primary mission as a customer-centered public library providing vital services to the people of St. Louis. This position needs someone who is comfortable working with the public and is enthusiastic, patient, and committed to providing excellent customer service.
In this role you will:
Assist customers with library card registration and checking out and returning materials.
Assist in preparation, delivery, and receipt of Library materials; receive payment from customers.
Provide assistance to customers with Library equipment.
Restock and shelve materials, including shelf-reading, as necessary.
Assist in opening and closing the location.
You will need to be:
Friendly, patient, and able to multitask while assisting customers.
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work with competing tasks and priorities.
Capable of effectively providing information and responding to questions from customers and staff.
Flexible, positive, and willing to work with staff and colleagues to successfully overcome challenges.
You will need to have:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Previous customer service experience preferred.
Strong communication and organization skills.
Comfort with using and learning new technology as the Library continues to evolve.

Hours for this position are:
Mon.: 11:45am - 8:15pm, Tues.-Thur.: 9:45am - 6:15pm, alternating Fri. & Sat. 8:45am - 5:15pm, occasional Sunday: 12:45 - 5:15pm, hours subject to change.
