Job Description
The Reliability Engineer will provide on-site support to external customers by conducting failure analyses and reliability assessments of rotating equipment, with a particular focus on sealing systems. The role involves identifying performance and reliability improvement opportunities, troubleshooting equipment issues, and conducting root cause analyses (RCA) using established methodologies such as Fault Tree Analysis, Ishikawa (Fishbone) Diagrams, Apollo RCA, and other structured problem-solving techniques.
The position also includes providing on-site technical support for John Crane products, supporting customer maintenance activities, and assisting with the installation, dismantling, inspection, and assembly of mechanical seals and related equipment.
SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Perform reliability analyses of customer rotating equipment, with a focus on sealing system performance and optimization.
- Lead and support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations involving sealing systems and rotating equipment, including site assessments, data collection, analysis, reporting, and presentation of findings and recommendations to customers.
- Conduct field troubleshooting activities, including problem diagnosis, development of corrective actions, and implementation of appropriate solutions in collaboration with customer teams.
- Deliver detailed technical presentations and recommendations to customers to support reliability improvement initiatives, sales opportunities, and RCA activities.
- Support customer sites with equipment measurements, seal installation, commissioning, and technical inspections.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with John Crane standards, procedures, quality requirements, and safety policies.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through effective technical support and professional communication.
Qualifications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in rotating equipment and sealing systems, with a strong focus on maintenance, reliability, and asset performance improvement.
- Solid understanding of industrial plant operations and maintenance environments, including work management systems, turnaround planning, maintenance planning, and scheduling processes.
- Experience working in a proactive, multinational, and multicultural environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of rotating equipment reliability principles and maintenance best practices.
- Knowledge of the John Crane product portfolio is considered an advantage.
- Professional certifications such as Vibration Analysis, Machinery Lubrication, Thermography, Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE), or Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) are highly desirable.
- Fluency in English is required; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
