We are seeking applicants for the position of Diagnostic Technician to join our Clinic Team.  In this position, the employee will perform an extensive number of data collection functions as delegated by the physician to allow for proper professional diagnosis of patients’ conditions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Acquaint all patients with the office procedures to which they will be exposed and inform them of the purpose of all tests performed, as well as how they will be affected 
  • Advise patients who will see them next and maintain a smooth flow of patients to the physician
  • Perform visual field testing, OCT scanning, corneal topography, A Scans, B Scans, ophthalmic imaging including fluorescein angiography, fundus photography, etc. 
  • Maintain sanitary conditions in diagnostic and procedure rooms and ensure par levels of replacement inventory 

SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday FT (may work occasional half Saturdays)

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Basic knowledge of ophthalmic conditions and ancillary testing  
  • Knowledge of NextGen 
  • Technical skills to operate various computers and imaging equipment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to be empathetic with patients’ needs and concerns 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Three or more years of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician and/or technical school training 
  • Some college (preferred)
  • COA or COT (preferred)
