About the Role

Description

The J's “Clubhouse” has two great options for childcare while parents/guardians workout at The J's Fitness Center. The J is seeking an enthusiastic individual who has a passion for working with children and providing a safe and engaging environment for children ages 3 months - 11 years.  The Little Clubhouse offers drop-in childcare for younger children ages 3 months to 5 years, to enjoy unstructured play with a variety of developmentally appropriate toys and equipment, children are encouraged to climb, crawl, explore and make discoveries. The Big Clubhouse is an active area for kids ages 5 to 11 years, youth get introduced to fitness-forward fun, we have a two-story slide, rock wall, and Ninja Warrior course, with additional space for those who prefer quieter activities like video games, coloring, reading, homework, or board games.


Position Description

The Supervisor will assist managing staff working within the Clubhouse spaces - Leads, General Attendants, and Special Event Staff. This position is responsible for training and supervising staff, ensuring they are actively engaged with children and providing excellent customer service. The Supervisor will provide hands-on staff support during direct service hours in the Clubhouse childcare spaces and communicate operational or staffing needs to the Clubhouse Manager.

 

The Supervisor will support the Clubhouse Manager by documenting staff concerns and performance issues, communicating relevant information and observations, and assisting with follow-up as needed. The Supervisor will also oversee, promote, and train staff on the execution of special events within the Clubhouse, including birthday parties and other programs. The ideal candidate will be creative, organized, and have experience in customer service, childcare, and staff supervision.

Schedule:

  • Saturday & Sunday: 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
  • Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday: 12:00 PM–8:00 PM

Essential Functions

  • Train and coach staff, promote active engagement with children and families, and communicate performance concerns to the Clubhouse Manager.
  • Provide hands-on support to staff during scheduled direct service hours in the childcare spaces while they are open, assist with daily operations, child interactions, and challenges.
  • Oversee birthday parties and our monthly Saturday Night Out events, including all marketing, registration, revenue goals, and family communication.
  • Complete weekly supply checks, order supplies, and submit purchase orders.
  • Conduct equipment and play structure inspections, communicate needs and repairs ensure a safe, and quality environment.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children aged infant through grade school.
  • CPR, AED, and First Aid certified or willing to complete upon hire.
  • Experience with training, scheduling, and supervising employees is preferred.
  • Able to prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently and develop realistic action plans.
  • Ability to form relationships with children and families.
  • Able to work a variable schedule.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, lifting/carrying up to 40lbs, talking, hearing, and regularly getting up and down from seated position.
  • Occasional sitting, pushing/pulling, stooping/crouching, crawling and/or climbing stairs/ladders to interact with children including in the play structures present in the clubhouse.
  • Occasional exposure to a generally loud environment including gaming and music speakers and children's voices indoors.
