Summary:  This position is responsible for general accounting, treasury, sales and use tax, and payroll processing functions while assisting the Controller in other areas as required.


 Job Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Fixed asset accounting, including tracking capital spending -in-process and accounting for additions, deletions, and depreciation in accordance with company policies and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Perform monthly accounting functions including account review and classification; monthly journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations as assigned.
  • Submit various state tax filings, including sales and use, and prepare payment requests as required.
  • Process weekly payroll processing with integration of company time keeping system.
  • Prepare monthly sales commission calculations and corresponding journal entry.
  • Update daily cash analysis. Submit check positive pay and resolve alerts. Submit mobile check deposits. Process bank wires and ACH payments. Perform monthly reconciliation of bank statements to ledger accounts.
  • Review customer outstanding invoices and credit limits: submit requests for necessary equipment order approvals and maintain equipment order approval log.
  • Administer travel and expense reporting system (SAP Concur). Generate reports needed for monthly credit card accrual and allocation journal entries.
  • Support internal and external audit requests.
  • Other duties as may be assigned by the Controller or CFO.

Requirements

 

Education and/or Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.. Three to five years relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment. CPA preferred.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
  • · Skills:
  • · Proficiency in ERP systems (Epicor preferred), payroll systems (Paylocity preferred) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros).
  • · Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.
  • · Knowledge of sales and use taxes and other business tax regulations.
  • · Excellent communication skills to present complex data to non-financial stakeholders.
  • · Ability to work independently and in a team, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • · Other: Must be able to handle confidential information with integrity.
