Design Technician – Engineering Support

Location: Mandeville, LA
Compensation: $25 – $35/hour (Based on Experience)
Employment Type: Full-Time + Overtime Opportunities
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

MSHS Pacific Power Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Design Technician to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting the design and documentation of retrofit and conversion control system projects—primarily involving Woodward programmable controls and related mechanical systems. This position offers strong potential for professional growth in a fast-paced, technically rewarding environment. Ideal candidate will be able to grow into a designer role that can work independently to develop electrical wiring and panel drawings biased on industry best practice and MSHS Pacific Power Group design standards. 


Overtime hours may be required based on project demands.


Key Responsibilities

  • Use AutoCAD Electrical to create detailed electrical schematic drawings based on engineered redlines
  • Use SolidWorks to develop mechanical cabinet and enclosure layouts
  • Ensure that all design packages meet MSHS Pacific Power Group standards and are completed within project timelines
  • Collaborate closely with engineers to support ongoing projects and engage in continuous training

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD (required)
  • Experience with SolidWorks (preferred; training available)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all work
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (Spanish is a plus)

Education & Experience

  • Associate or Technical Degree in AutoCAD preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • High School Diploma required
  • Preferred experience in electrical panel layout and design.
