About the Role

Ascend Prime Steak & Sushi is looking for polished, energetic Hosts to join our front-of-house team in Bellevue. As a Host, you are one of the first and last impressions of the Ascend experience. You will warmly welcome guests, assist with reservations and seating, communicate closely with the management and service teams, and help create a smooth flow throughout the dining room.


We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys hospitality, communicates confidently and professionally, stays organized in a fast-paced environment, and pays close attention to the details that make a guest feel recognized and cared for.

Pay rate:

  • $17.13 per hour plus tips
Requirements:
  • Prior experience as a Host preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English with customers as well as all levels of employees in both verbal and written form in a professional manner.
  • Ability to manipulate the Aloha POS system and accurately input orders and post transactions.
  • The skills and abilities necessary for effective performance within this position are typically acquired through five (5) years as a host or assistant host.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to provide direction in a fast-paced environment; manage time effectively and work well in a team environment.
  • Must possess excellent customer relations, sales, & communication skills.
  • Must possess at all times during employment a valid Washington State Department of Health card and any other government-required cards.

Responsibilities:

  • Warmly greet and welcome all guests upon arrival
  • Manage reservations, waitlists, and guest information accurately
  • Communicate with managers, servers, and other team members regarding reservations, guest needs, and table availability
  • Answer incoming phone calls and assist guests with reservation questions and general inquiries
  • Confirm reservations and note special occasions, requests, preferences, and important guest details
  • Recognize returning guests and help provide personalized, attentive service
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and professional host stand and entrance
  • Assist with coat check and other guest-facing needs when necessary
  • Professionally handle guest concerns and involve a manager when appropriate
  • Assist with opening and closing host duties
  • Support the overall front-of-house team as needed to provide a seamless guest experience

Physical demands and work environment:


While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
