About the Role

The Public Information Officer (PIO) for the City of Sedona Police Department serves as primary communicator between the communications unit, the Police Department, the media, and the community. This role ensures timely, accurate, and transparent information that reflects the city of Sedona’s values, promotes public trust, and supports departmental priorities. The PIO develops strategic communication plans, manages social media outreach, manages internal communications, and coordinates messaging for programs, public safety initiatives, and critical incidents.
