What You’ll Do


The Assistant Service Manager functions in a support role to the Service Manager or leads in the absence of the Service Manager by ensuring the physical aspects of the property meet the company’s established standards and any applicable laws. This position participates in leading the on-site maintenance staff, if applicable, as well as in diagnosing maintenance problems for the property. 


Your day-to-day may include: 


  • Assist supervisor with managing the on-site maintenance team, if applicable  
  • Assist in diagnosing problems and performing assigned repairs for the property, which may include such areas as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, dry walling, exterior structural, and appliances 
  • Schedule, monitor, and perform preventative maintenance tasks and apartment turns 
  • Inspect apartments before and after move-ins and move-outs 
  • Respond promptly and correctly to work order requests from residents, as well as delegate work orders to other maintenance staff, if applicable 
  • Obtain bids from outside contractors and oversee contractor work for completeness, as required

What You Bring


  • Comprehension of federal fair housing laws and any applicable local housing provisions 
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to relate to others, to self-regulate, and to de-escalate and defuse tense or antagonistic situations 
  • Knowledge of general property repairs, which may include, as applicable, the areas of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, dry walling, exterior structural, and appliances 
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills 
  • Ability to multi-task, delegate, make quick and effective decisions, analyze, and resolve problems

The expected compensation range for this position is $26.00 – $29.00, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
