Title: Facilitated Enrollment Specialist


Position Type: Full-time, Non-exempt


Reports to: Facilitated Enrollment Coordinator


Base Location: Monticello


Schedule: Monday - Thursday 9am-3pm and Friday 9am-1pm


Pay Rate: $24.47/hr

About the Role

The Facilitated Enrollment Specialist helps individuals navigate the Medicaid and Medicare enrollment process by providing education, application assistance, and ongoing support. This role combines direct client service, community outreach, and program administration to ensure individuals can successfully access and maintain healthcare coverage. The ideal candidate is compassionate, organized, and committed to empowering people through accurate information and personalized assistance.


What You’ll Do

  • Assist individuals with Medicaid, Medicare, and other health insurance enrollment processes through phone, virtual, and in-person appointments.
  • Guide consumers through application requirements, gather necessary documentation, and ensure timely and accurate submission of enrollment materials.
  • Educate individuals on available healthcare coverage options and help them make informed decisions regarding their benefits.
  • Conduct outreach and represent the organization at community events, partner agencies, and local organizations to increase awareness of enrollment services.
  • Maintain accurate client records, activity logs, and reporting documentation in accordance with program requirements.
  • Participate in ongoing training, certification activities, staff meetings, and statewide collaboration efforts to remain current on policy and program changes.

Requirements

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Experience with Medicaid, Medicare, public benefits, healthcare navigation, caregiving, advocacy, or related service programs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly and compassionately.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, web-based applications, and data entry systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Willingness and ability to complete state-sponsored Facilitated Enrollment Specialist certification training within the first 90 days of employment, if not already certified.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for community-based outreach and client meetings.


It Would Be a Plus If You Also Have

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bilingual communication skills, particularly Spanish and/or American Sign Language (ASL).
  • Experience working in community health, social services, healthcare enrollment, benefits counseling, advocacy, or application assistance programs.
  • Knowledge of healthcare coverage programs, eligibility requirements, and enrollment processes.


Success in This Role Will Be Demonstrated Through

  • Consistently assisting individuals in successfully completing Medicaid, Medicare, and related healthcare enrollment applications.
  • Maintaining accurate, timely, and compliant client documentation and reporting.
  • Building strong relationships with consumers, community partners, and referral sources.
  • Achieving outreach and enrollment goals while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Staying current on program requirements and applying that knowledge to support informed consumer decision-making.
  • Demonstrating professionalism, compassion, and a commitment to advancing equitable access to healthcare coverage.
