National Airlines specializes in over-sized, time sensitive, and special handling requirements, utilizing 747-400, 777, and A-330 aircraft to accomplish its missions.

Summary: The Maintenance Planner forecasts, plans, and schedules aircraft maintenance to ensure compliance with FAA regulations, approved maintenance programs, and operational requirements. This position coordinates aircraft routing, maintenance work orders, parts, labor, tooling, facilities, and ground time to ensure required maintenance is completed within established calendar, flight-hour, and flight-cycle limits. Working closely with Maintenance Control, Materials, System Operations, and Technical Operations, the Maintenance Planner supports operational recovery, maintains accurate planning data, and helps ensure safe, efficient, and reliable fleet operations.
Essential Functions:
- Forecasts, plans, and schedules maintenance events to maintain Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulatory compliance
- Ensure all maintenance is scheduled within the required time providing viable options necessary to accommodate the planned maintenance requirements
- Ensures no overfly activity of maintenance tasks while balancing the needs of Technical Operations, System Operations, Marketing, and other internal/external customers
- Ensures that the required maintenance is scheduled and accomplished within the calendar, flight-hour, and flight cycle limits as specified by approved maintenance programs, Federal Aviation Regulations, and Special Instructions
- Coordinates with the Maintenance Control and Materials Department for parts and materials needed for completing the Fleet Campaign Directives and National Airlines task cards
- Manages AIMS and routing changes such that all maintenance events are scheduled and performed within the time interval (i.e., flight hours, cycles, days, etc.) of the task while accounting for labor, ground time, parts, tooling, facilities, weather, etc.
- Ensures all scheduled planned maintenance is rescheduled correctly after any swap/reroute event and the associated Work Order is modified
- Assists with the recovery plan in the event the system operation is impacted by delays or cancellations
- Ensures compliance with and tracking aircraft to designated maintenance locations to meet projected induction dates into National Airlines systems (i.e., maintenance ferries, repositioning flights, etc.)
- Collaborate with System Operations and Technical Operations Leadership to identify operational issues which impact necessary ground time for planned maintenance
- Collaborates with training and integration of new Line Planners, fostering a positive learning environment and helping promote continuous professional development within the department
- Provides data and reports as required to monitor the performance of various maintenance and engineering environments
- Maintains National Airlines electronic task database.
Qualifications:
- Three (3) years of aviation experience in a position responsible for scheduling maintenance and familiarity with maintenance programs preferred
- Must be willing to work any assigned shift which may include overnights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations of 49 CFR Parts 25, 43, 65, 91, 121
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to work well with others
- Authorization to work in the US is required
- Airframe and Powerplant License preferred
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, telephone, copy machine/printer.
- Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work
- Light to moderate lifting up to 10 pounds.
Work Environment:
- Moderate noise (i.e., business offices with computers, phones, printers, and overhead lights).
- Ability to work in a confined office or open cubicle environment
