JOB TITLE: Resident Services Coordinator
JOB SUMMARY
Effectively assist residents who have requested support in enhancing the quality of their daily lives and to more fully and successfully participate in the educational and economic mainstream. Provide residents with information about and supportive access to local services and resources which may assist the residents in achieving their life opportunity’s objectives. An integral member of the housing and property team who plays a critical role in the overall positive maintenance of the property for the enjoyment of its residents and the respect of its neighbors.
Survey residents to assess their needs and wishes and work with the Executive Director to develop a Yearly Service Plan for the property. Create a supportive atmosphere in which services staff work side-by-side with property management staff to develop a comprehensive approach which focuses on helping residents to sustain their housing and maintain a quality of life. Ensure all programs and services are culturally appropriate and special needs sensitive and work with all additional partnering agencies to make certain that residents are fully engaged in program planning and implementation.
Coordinate schedules, community/service space, volunteers, personnel for third-party service providers, recreational and community building activities, educational activities (i.e. computer classes), and support groups.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Welcome new residents and establish contact with existing residents to explain the resident services program, its offerings, and the RSC role in providing information and support in assisting residents interested in accessing local services resources
· Identify, assess, select, develops and maintain referral partnership relationships with local services resource agencies which effectively assist residents to achieve their life opportunities objectives
· Provide supportive linkage between residents and referral agency staff when residents or agencies request assistance
· Work with the property management team when a resident is identified as in jeopardy of eviction and offer linkage and referral support to the resident to positively and quickly rectify the situation
· Establishes resident services programs targets.
· Consistently track and measure program targets progress and regularly reports program outcomes to both internal and external stakeholders
· Analyze and utilize outcomes data as the basis for continuous program improvement
· Identify and assess individual and family needs when appropriate; informs the resident of available resources and provides support in accessing services successfully
· Help to facilitate resident meetings, community organizing, and social activities
· Develops supportive professional relationships with residents which help them enhance the quality of their lives, empower them, and encourage them in taking steps to achieve self-sufficiency
· When requested, works with property management in mediating conflicts between residents
· Help the property manager identify potential resident problems and intervene before a situation becomes a crisis
· Continually update resource files of available community resources
· Organize and oversee all volunteers
· Complete other housing and resident-related assignments as directed by the Leadership Team and Executive Director; including physically walking the community and door knocking at the homes of the residents to enhance participation and building awareness of programs and services
· Administer enrichment programs for youth and adult, if applicable, to community
· Be willing to fill-in at other sites and/or attend training at other communities
· Maintain the Resource Center and affiliated rooms in a clean and presentable condition at all times including cleaning of the center, restrooms, kitchen, and trash removal
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
· Must be willing to undergo, and pass, background and drug tests
· Enthusiasm in working with people
· Experience with community organizing and the social services system or the proven ability to quickly develop such knowledge
· Knowledge about the daily realities facing low-income families
· Some background and experience in affordable housing programs
· Ability to multitask and complete assignments which occasionally occur in a stressful environment
· Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
· Computer and technology proficient; must be able to easily use Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
· Demonstrate experience in successfully working with diverse populations
· Program evaluation experience helpful
· Fundraising
· Outgoing personality and ability to build community partnerships
· Small budget management and expense control
· Public speaking
· Creative, ability to think "outside the box", and offer a fresh perspective and new ideas

· Have reliable personal transportation and live within 15 miles of target zip code

Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 25 pounds occasionally. Travel independently by air, bus, train, or personal vehicle. Move independently within a physical office setting and at event locations. Visually communicate, use a computer, copier, camera, and other office equipment. Independently commute to and from work locations as needed.
