Fraud Operations Coordinator

Description
About Us:
RunBuggy is the most technically advanced automotive logistics platform on the market. Period.
Backed by Porsche Ventures and Hearst Ventures, RunBuggy is transforming the way cars move. Our cutting-edge technology is trusted by some of the largest OEMs, captive finance companies, and automotive lenders in the world to streamline vehicle transportation at scale.
RunBuggy’s end-to-end platform connects car shippers and haulers in real time - eliminating the friction of traditional load boards and costly custom software. For shippers, RunBuggy integrates directly into existing management systems, reducing transportation costs and accelerating delivery timelines. For transporters, we offer a smarter, more profitable way to find, accept, and manage loads - all from a single app.
Since launching in 2019, RunBuggy has grown to over 190 team members, facilitated the movement of hundreds of thousands of vehicles, and attracted tens of thousands of transporters across the U.S.
We’re not just building a better logistics platform - we’re redefining the future of automotive transportation.
About the Role:
Trusted by the biggest names in automotive, RunBuggy moves thousands of vehicles every week - for dealers and commercial shippers, and for individual consumers relocating for the season, heading off to college, or buying the collectible car of their dreams from across the country. The vast majority of those orders move smoothly. A small number do not.
The Fraud Operations Coordinator sits at that intersection. About 50% of your time goes to our fraud prevention program: triaging suspicious activity, vetting carriers, and supporting investigations and recovery. The rest is spent working live orders alongside our Delivery Operations team, keeping pickups and deliveries on schedule and solving the exceptions that need a human to step in.
The two halves make each other better - working real orders every day teaches you what normal looks like, which is what lets you spot the load, the dispatcher, or the pickup that doesn't. The vehicles we move are often unique; some carry high monetary value and some only sentimental value, but all of them matter to the person having them moved. Protecting them, and the honest carriers who move them, is what this role is designed for.
This position is a hybrid role with 3 days onsite in Tempe, Arizona. Please do not apply if you are unable to work in the office 3 days per week.
If this sounds just like you, then please read on! If you feel this is not in your wheelhouse, that is okay too! We are actively hiring outstanding professionals, so we encourage you to apply to one of our many other opportunities.
Requirements
What You Will Be Doing:
Fraud Operations (approximately 50% of the role, with fraud responsibilities taking priority as needed)
- Works with the Transporter Success team to evaluate potential fraud risks associated with new transporters and transporters undergoing periodic review.
- Keeps every carrier and fraud decision legally defensible by maintaining an immutable system of record in SharePoint - what was reviewed, when, and why, with a named approver, written rationale, timestamps, and point-in-time screenshots (SAFER, CSA, RMIS, insurance).
- Helps to recover vehicles that are stolen, diverted, or held by assisting with time-sensitive investigations and recovery - locating vehicles and drivers through GPS and telematics, pressing suspected bad actors directly for verification and return, coordinating with law enforcement, terminals, and recovery vendors, and assisting with halting or clawing back payments to limit loss.
- Contains active threats within minutes as part of the rapid-response point of contact group - disabling accounts, restricting loads, holding payments, and mobilizing recovery to limit exposure while the situation is live.
- Assists in resolving fraud cases end-to-end and equips partners to act - preserving platform, GPS and telematics, communication, and document evidence, and preparing case packages for police reports, CargoNet and Verisk submissions, and insurance claims.
- Surfaces emerging fraud early by triaging daily alert queues - duplicate pickup or delivery information, geo-validation failures, GPS disablement after pickup, anomalous logins, and unusual claim or unclaim behavior - and escalating high-risk patterns to the Fraud Specialist.
Logistics Coordination (approximately 50% of the role)
- Keeps pickups and deliveries on schedule by managing a high volume of carrier, customer, and in-platform communication.
- Ensures loads dispatch cleanly by confirming carrier assignments, pickup and delivery details, and complete, accurate documentation
- Protects on-time delivery by tracking shipments in transit and resolving missed, delayed, or at-risk loads before they fall behind.
- Resolves the exceptions that need a human by coordinating across internal and external sources and keeping stakeholders informed with professionalism.
- Sets accurate customer expectations for moving a vehicle and solves nuanced handling or scheduling needs, drawing on deep automotive knowledge.
- Strengthens customer and carrier retention through responsive, professional service and current knowledge of company products and services.
Additional Responsibilities

- Composure to hold difficult, high-stakes conversations with uncooperative or hostile parties - including suspected bad actors - while staying professional, factual, and firm.
