POSITION SUMMARY:
The General Manager (GM) is the operational and cultural leader of their branch, responsible for P&L performance, client relationships, compliance, and team development. In this role, the GM is local catalyst of Mohawk’s unique culture. This role sets the standard for service excellence and accountability, ensuring the branch operates as a high-performing, solutions-oriented team aligned to Mohawk’s goals. The GM integrates operational execution with people leadership, driving both short-term results and long-term branch health. By developing talent and building internal leaders, the GM directly contributes to Mohawk’s growth and future leadership capacity.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build and maintain strong client, supplier, and agent relationships that support retention and growth.
- Foster a white-glove, solutions-oriented service culture across all branch teams.
- Ensure customer needs are addressed with urgency, professionalism, and accountability.
- Partner with Sales and operational leaders to strengthen customer relationships and support business development.
- Lead all branch operations to ensure service excellence, compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Drive adherence to regulatory requirements, corporate initiatives, and Center of Excellence standards.
- Develop and execute branch growth, pricing, and operational strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Promote continuous improvement, accountability, and process consistency across the branch.
- Resolve complex operational, customer, compliance, and employee issues.
- Identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions that improve branch performance.
- Support teams through high-impact or time-sensitive situations while mitigating risk.
- Anticipate challenges and proactively implement strategies to prevent service disruptions.
- Partner with Sales, Compliance, Centers of Excellence, and corporate leadership to achieve branch goals.
- Align branch priorities and resources with company strategies and customer needs.
- Communicate performance expectations, business objectives, and organizational initiatives clearly.
- Represent the branch in leadership forums, customer meetings, and company-wide programs.
- Own branch P&L performance, profitability, and financial results.
- Oversee pricing, quoting, billing, file reviews, and financial controls.
- Monitor branch performance metrics and drive revenue, margin, and cost-management initiatives.
- Ensure timely billing, operational accuracy, and compliance with financial standards.
- Lead, coach, and develop branch leaders and team members to achieve business objectives.
- Foster an engaging, high-performance culture aligned with Mohawk Global values.
- Drive talent development, succession planning, and leadership pipeline growth.
- Execute People & Culture initiatives while reinforcing accountability, collaboration, and employee engagement.
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Advanced knowledge of international freight forwarding, customs brokerage, import, export, and domestic transportation operations.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance requirements, including CBP, TSA, and other government agencies.

- Microsoft Office Suite and operational technology proficiency.

Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of international freight forwarding, customs brokerage, or related logistics experience.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams and operations.
- Demonstrated success managing P&L performance and achieving business goals.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive operational excellence.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, International Business, or related field.
- Experience leading multi-functional branch operations.
- Advanced financial management and business planning experience.
OFFICE / WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position operates in a professional office environment (and/or remotely from a home office) with a quiet to moderate noise level and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such computers, photocopying machines and storage/filing cabinets. This is a largely sedentary role, however, lifting items under 25 pounds as well as the ability to bend, stand and walk short distances may be required.
Travel Requirement: Travel as needed for leadership meetings, client visits, or training.
