About the Role

Opal Foods is currently accepting applications for the position of Grounds keeping and Maintenance for our Pullet Farm in Hudson, CO. This position is responsible for upkeep of grounds, truck disinfection, outdoor bait stations, and deliveries while maintaining compliance with all company policies and governmental regulations. This position will also assist the Pullet Farm Manager with other projects and duties as needed.

 Position Responsibilities:

  • Upkeep of grounds including mowing, spraying weeds, weed-eating, and trash
  • Maintaining truck disinfection stations and hand pumps
  • Maintaining roads
  • Staying on top of bird control
  • Keeping feed pads clear of feed
  • Preventive maintenance on all outside equip-feed bins, incline belts, cool cells, etc.
  • Maintaining outside bait stations
  • Keeping track of visitors and supply deliveries
  • Monitor and maintain exterior of farm
  • Other duties as assigned by Lead person or Manager

Requirements: (knowledge, experience, skills, education)

  • Must follow strict bio-security procedures including shower in and shower out if entering the buildings
  • Must be able to walk for very long periods of time
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must be comfortable working independently for 12-hours shifts in all weather conditions
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays as scheduled
