Advanced Practice Provider

Little Rock, NLR and Conway, AR


Sign on Bonus opportunity of $25,000 based on 3+ years of Specialty APP (APRN, PA, DNP) experience.   

Eligibility for quarterly productivity-based bonus also offered.


Must live within an hour's drive to Little Rock, for call.


Description 

The physician extender collaborates with the physician and other health care professionals to provide medical services including direct patient care, medical record documentation and follow-up care. The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner operates within the standards of care and scope of practice as defined by the State of Arkansas. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  1. Performs comprehensive exams of patients related to men and women’s health issues. 
  2. Identifies differential diagnoses and establishes priorities of care for the presenting problem. 
  3. Assists in the development of a treatment plan and appropriate follow up care. 
  4. Communicates pertinent patient information to the supervising physician. 
  5. Educates the patient about the diagnosis and treatment plan. 
  6. Orders, interprets, and evaluates tests. 
  7. Obtains informed consent for all procedures. 
  8. Exercises prescriptive authority as outlined in Arkansas statutes. 
  9. Documents patient visit appropriately in the electronic medical record (EMR) and/or according to the guidelines established by each individual location in which the care is provided. 
  10. Maintains patient confidentiality per HIPAA requirements. 
  11. Keeps current on new knowledge gained from conferences, workshops, professional literature, or other training and assimilates this knowledge into clinical practice. 
  12. Participate in an on-call rotation, for both Weeknight and Weekend coverage, providing timely after-hours and support to ensure system reliability and rapid incident resolution. 
  13. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned. 

Requirements 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

ARPN or PA-C from accredited graduate program. 

  • Nurse Practitioners: Current license or eligible for licensure to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber in Arkansas 
  • Physician Assistants: Current license or eligible for licensure by the Medical Examining Board(s) of Arkansas 
  • DEA number 
  • BLS/ACLS certification
