About the Role

Description

The Truck Wash & Yard Technician is primarily responsible for washing and cleaning Prairie Field Services' crude trucks and trailers using the Company's hot water pressure washer, and for jockeying trucks and trailers between locations throughout the organization as directed. These two duties make up the substantial majority of the role. The position also supports general yard organization, fuel island and wash area upkeep, light preventative maintenance, and routine facility checks as assigned. The position reports to the Wyoming Operations Manager.


Responsibilities


• Wash and clean Company trucks and trailers using the Company's hot water pressure washer — this is the primary duty of the role.

• Jockey and move trucks and trailers from one location to another, as directed, including between Company facilities.

• Perform simple preventative maintenance on units, as directed.

• Organize and clean the yard.

• Keep the fuel island and truck wash area and equipment clean and organized.

• Perform monthly fire extinguisher inspections.

• Change furnace and air filters on a monthly basis, or as scheduled.

• Grease all Wyoming tractors on a dedicated, scheduled basis.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications


• Valid Class A CDL with hazmat endorsement, or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of start date.

• Strong communication skills, including verbal, text, email, and written communication.

• Ability to prioritize competing demands and remain flexible in a changing work environment.

• Ability to work effectively with team members across different levels and geographies within the organization.

• Simple preventative maintenance experience is preferred.

• Simple facility maintenance experience is preferred.

• Ability to jockey equipment during after hours, nights, and weekends as needed or requested.


Physical Demands


• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, climb, and reach for extended periods throughout a shift.

• Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.

• Ability to safely operate a hot water pressure washer and other cleaning equipment.

• Ability to safely couple and uncouple trailers, climb in and out of truck cabs, and maneuver large vehicles and equipment in tight spaces.

• Ability to climb on and around trucks and trailers, including use of ladders or steps, to complete washing and inspection tasks.

• Good hand-eye coordination, depth perception, and visual acuity for safely operating and maneuvering vehicles and equipment.


Compensation & Benefits


• $20–$30 per hour, depending on experience.

• Eligible for an annual individual contributor bonus opportunity of $2,500.

This is a non-exempt position. Employment is contingent upon a successful background check and drug screen.
