Chaplain (Bilingual) with Hospice Experience

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Chaplain to join our hospice care team. This vital role offers an opportunity to provide spiritual support and comfort to patients and their families during challenging times. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both English and Spanish and possess experience in hospice or end-of-life care, demonstrating sensitivity and cultural competence.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide spiritual and emotional support to patients and their families, respecting diverse faith backgrounds and personal beliefs

- Conduct spiritual assessments and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with healthcare teams

- Offer counseling, prayer, and spiritual guidance tailored to patient needs and preferences

- Facilitate religious rituals and ceremonies as appropriate and requested

- Support staff and volunteers with spiritual care training and resources

- Document all spiritual care interventions accurately in patient records

- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards and hospice policies

Requirements

Skills and Qualifications:

- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken

- Prior experience in hospice, palliative, or end-of-life care preferred

- Certification or training in spiritual care, chaplaincy, or related fields is desirable

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

- Ability to provide compassionate, non-judgmental support in sensitive situations

- Cultural competence and respect for diverse spiritual and religious beliefs

- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required
