Housekeeping Aide

Description

SUMMARY

Performs designated cleaning tasks and routine housekeeping services.

PRIMARY DUTIES

1. Clean and mop nursing station, med rooms, and residents’ rooms including: mopping floors, wipe walls as necessary, wipe and disinfect sink/faucet, dust ceiling fixtures, and empty trash cans.
2. Wipe down, clean and mop/vacuum all offices as necessary.
3. Clean all shower/tub rooms, clean and dirty utility closets including: disinfect tubs, wipe walls as necessary, mop floors, dust ceiling fixtures, wipe and disinfect sinks/faucets, empty trash cans, disinfect hoppers, wipe door frames, and wipe counters.
4. Report any broken or damaged items to your supervisor or maintenance work orders on nursing station counter (if it can wait until next day).
5. Clean the public restrooms, garden rooms (and restrooms), employee’s lounge and offices daily including: Mop floors, vacuum, wipe walls, wipe counters, disinfect toilets, wipe and disinfect sinks, empty trash cans, wipe door frames, dust wall hangings, wipe tables, and wipe chairs.
6. Cleans, stocks and mops all janitor closets.
7. Clean all hallways including: mop/vacuum floors, wipe down walls/wall hangings, and wipe door frames.
8. Will be required to fill-in when necessary in housekeeping and laundry.
9. Disinfect all trash barrels weekly or as necessary.
10. Must follow policies and procedures of Santa Rita Care Center and state and federal requirements.
11. All other duties assigned.

Requirements

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

1. Must be able to lift 50 lbs and carry 25 lbs.
2. Must be able to stoop, bend, walk, mop, push a cart, and stretch continuously throughout the shift.
3. Must be able to read, speak, and understand the English language without difficultly.
