Several members of our Quality Assurance Department are also certified in various NDT (nondestructive testing) processes per ASNT SNT TC-1a. With these certifications, Alloy Engineering can develop all necessary or required weld procedures, depending on the application, to produce the highest quality welded, fabricated product and certify 100% compliance.

Position Overview: The HR Operations Intern provides administrative, reporting, and program coordination support to the HR Business Partner. 

Key Responsibilities:

HR Metrics, Reporting & Records Support

  •  Run, review, and summarize weekly attendance reports, including exceptions, missing punches, trends, and department-level follow-up needs. 
  •  Track staffing levels, headcount, and hiring status; prepare monthly staffing summaries for leadership. 
  •  Support training documentation by maintaining completion records, 30/60/90-day onboarding checklists, and training compliance logs. 
  •  Prepare data pulls and reports from Paylocity as directed, including attendance, turnover, headcount, and benefits enrollment. 

Onboarding Administration

  •  Prepare and maintain new hire packets, orientation materials, onboarding paperwork, and checklists. 
  •  Coordinate new hire orientation logistics and monitor completion of required onboarding steps. 
  •  Track benefits eligibility dates, enrollment documentation, and missing required forms; flag items to the HR Business Partner. 
  •  Maintain I-9 compliance tracking and audit files for completeness. 

Employee Recognition & Communications

  •  Support the Employee of the Month program by collecting nominations, tallying results, coordinating photos, and preparing town hall slides. 
  •  Maintain recognition tracking logs for milestones, anniversaries, service awards, and core value recognition. 
  •  Create and maintain employee communications, including newsletter content, recognition spotlights, communication board updates, event promotions, and photos. 
  •  Maintain the employee event calendar and assist with planning logistics for appreciation events, town halls, and luncheons. 

Survey & Feedback Coordination

  •  Build, maintain, and standardize surveys and templates across all AECO companies. 
  •  Schedule and send reminders for stay interviews, engagement surveys, exit surveys, and new hire feedback. 
  •  Track survey participation rates and compile raw data into summary reports for HR Business Partner review. 

Performance Review Tracking

  •  Monitor review completion status through Paylocity and tracking tools, including annual, quarterly, 360-degree, self-review, and wage progression reviews. 
  •  Send reminders to supervisors and employees for overdue evaluations and escalate outstanding items to the HR Business Partner. 
  •  Generate completion reports for HR and leadership. 



Requirements

 Preferred Experience

  •  Junior or senior standing, or graduate student status in an HR or Organizational Development program. 
  •  Interest in manufacturing HR and comfort working regularly on a shop floor rather than solely in a corporate office. 
  •  Prior internship or work experience in an office, HR, or administrative capacity. 

Work Environment

  •  Manufacturing setting with regular shop floor presence. Closed-toe shoes are required; PPE is provided when needed. 
  •  Primarily on-site at Alloy Engineering in Berea, Ohio, with occasional visits to Mach3 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. 
  •  Fast-paced, employee-owned company culture. 
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening, including marijuana, as a condition of employment. Alloy Engineering is a drug-free workplace, and employment is contingent upon passing the required drug test.
