We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our Family Medicine team in Norwalk, IA. This clinical professional will play an important role in supporting patient care by assisting providers with exams, treatments, and procedures while helping deliver a positive, patient-centered experience.

 

Candidates with a Limited Radiology certification are encouraged to apply and will have the opportunity to utilize their imaging skills while supporting diagnostic services within the clinic. Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians during patient exams and procedures
  • Room patients, record patient histories, vital signs, and document in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments per scope of practice
  • Educate patients on health, medications, and follow-up care
  • Coordinate referrals and patient care follow-ups
  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures within scope of certification for candidates with Limited Radiology credentials
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (Certificate, diploma, or Associate’s Degree) required
  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant through one of the following required:
    • National Healthcare Association
    • American Association of Medical Assistants
    • National Center for Competency Testing
    • National Certified Medical Assistant
    • National Association of Health Professionals
    • American Registry of Medical Assistants
    • American Allied Health
    • American Medical Technologists
  • Limited Radiology certification preferred for candidates interested in performing diagnostic imaging procedures within the clinic
  • Prior experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred
  • Familiarity with EPIC a plus!
  • For positions within UnityPoint Clinic, team members may be required to work at or float to other locations to support optimized staffing
