Sterile Processing Data Specialist

Inova Sterile Processing is looking for a dedicated Sterile Processing Data Specialist to join the Team. This full-time role will be day-shift working Monday – Friday located in Fairfax, VA.
The Data Specialist is responsible for collecting, entering, validating, and maintaining data used for clinical, operational, and/or regulatory reporting. This role supports data-driven decision-making by ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of hospital data systems.

Sterile Processing Data Specialist Responsibilities:
- Accurately enter and update data in hospital databases, spreadsheets, and electronic systems.
- Maintain data integrity by performing regular audits and quality checks.
- Organize and file electronic and paper records in accordance with hospital policies.
- Assist in generating routine and ad hoc reports for internal departments and external agencies.
- Compile data for quality improvement, compliance, and performance tracking.
- Support data collection for surveys, audits, and accreditation processes.
- Work closely with clinical, administrative, and IT teams to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Respond to data-related inquiries and provide support for departmental projects.
- Communicate discrepancies or issues to appropriate staff for resolution.
- Conducts daily maintenance on all databases housed within the department.
- Maintains the structure and integrity of all data by performing regular quality checks.
- Performs data entry using database or spreadsheet software in a timely and accurate manner to facilitate the availability of data for quick analysis.
- May perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s Degree in related filed (or relevant experience in lieu of degree)
Experience: 1 year of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous sterile processing experience preferred.
Previous experience with data management and data entry preferred.
