About the Role

Description

The Interior Design Intern assists the interior design team on multiple interior design projects with a willingness to contribute to any aspect of a project. Potential project typologies include higher education, libraries, performing arts, government, office, and multi-family projects. The intern works with the interior design team on the development and presentation of design ideas, with opportunities to work on multiple projects of varied project types.


Design Responsibilities


Potential tasks may include:

o Assist with design exploration and documentation of projects in Revit.

o Assist with client presentations in InDesign.

o Assist with the creation of project finish binders & presentation boards.

o Assist with FF&E specification packages, budgets, & documentation.

o Research, select, and specify interior and furniture finishes.

o Communication & coordination with interiors product representatives.

o Keep the interiors library organized and updated.

Requirements


  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in interior design from a CIDA accredited program
  • Interest in sustainability & sustainable materials
  • Strong graphic, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • General knowledge of FF&E, color, and materials
  • General knowledge of architectural representatives and communication
  • Operate with a service-focused mindset dedicated to meeting client requirements, expectations, and budget
  • Knowledge of space planning, ADA, and life safety requirements
  • Knowledge of working in relevant computer software:
  • Knowledge of working in relevant computer software:

o Building Information Modeling: Revit

o Adobe Creative Suite:  InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator

o Microsoft Office Suite

o Enscape and AutoCAD a plus
