Location and Hours: 

Our headquarters is located in North Kingstown, RI. This opportunity is to work full-time (40 hours per week). Tuesday through Saturday, 12:00pm-8:00pm.

The Specimen Accessioner is responsible for the receipt and processing of specimens.

Essential Responsibilities:

· Enters patient demographic and testing information into the laboratory information system.

· Examines specimens for adequacy.

· Labels specimens and prepares aliquots.

· Delivers specimens to proper laboratory departments for analysis.

· Assists with other data entry and clerical functions as assigned.

· Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Job Qualifications:

• High School Education preferred.
• Requires an ability to focus and an attention to accuracy and detail.
• Must display interpersonal and diplomacy skills.
• Ability to work well as part of a team.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and see tasks through to completion.

Physical Requirements:

• Physical stamina, including standing for long periods, walking, bending and reaching to perform tests and managing equipment. 
• Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks using hands and fingers for extended periods of time. 
• Must be able to handle small tools, instruments and laboratory equipment with precision. 
• Must be able to wear PPE, such as lab coats, masks, gloves, and eye protection.  
• Ability to handle chemicals safely.    
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
