We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the Wu Jieh Yee School of Arts and Social Sciences:

Major Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee will assist with a research project that focuses on developing an AI-powered, interactive, gamified metaverse for translation technology. The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following : 

• Preparing and reviewing learning and study materials related to translation technology and languages;
• Creating and refining content, including PPT slides, scripts, videos, and other multimedia resources;  
• Conducting online and/or face-to-face training/activities;
• Providing assistance in project coordination and testing of tools, devices, and software;
• Assisting in developing research instruments; data collection and analysis; and
• Performing other duties as assigned by the principal investigator.

Candidates

Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence: 

• a bachelor’s degree (research assistant II) and a master’s degree (research assistant I) in translation, linguistics, language education, or a related discipline;
• Preferably has experience in teaching and research project(s) related to translation and/or education technology;
• Knowledge and skills in using AI-powered and/or translation technology tools;
• Preferably good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Putonghua); and
• Detail-oriented, hardworking, responsible, and able to meet tight deadlines and work independently.

Terms and Conditions for Appointment 

Successful candidate will be appointed to a part-time contract.  Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions.
