Job Description

At TAL, we’re redefining the claims experience to deliver greater care, confidence and support when customers need it most. As a Team Manager, you’ll lead a high-performing claims team that plays a critical role in helping customers navigate life’s challenges with empathy and expertise. By fostering a culture of excellence, continuous improvement and accountability, you’ll help ensure fair, timely and trusted outcomes while empowering your team to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our customers, partners and communities every day.

In this role you will:

  • Lead claims portfolio performance to deliver fair, timely and customer-focused outcomes.
  • Develop and empower team members to build capability, engagement and high performance.
  • Resolve complex claims and escalations with sound judgement, empathy and accountability.
  • Drive service excellence by improving customer experiences and strengthening trust.
  • Champion risk and compliance standards to ensure quality, consistency and regulatory adherence.
  • Optimise operational performance through effective resource management, coaching and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading claims or insurance teams, with a track record of delivering strong customer and business outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of life insurance or broader insurance claims, enabling confident and informed decision-making.
  • Proven ability to lead day-to-day operations, balancing performance, service quality and team priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage, influence and build trusted relationships across stakeholders.
  • Sound understanding of claims management practices, ensuring fair, consistent and customer-focused outcomes.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and industry requirements, supporting high-quality, compliant claims handling and service delivery.
