Spotter Driver

Location: Van Buren, Indiana

Weaver Popcorn is looking for a Spotter Driver to keep trailers moving safely and efficiently through our yard. In this role, you’ll position trailers at dock doors, track trailer moves, coordinate with the shipping and receiving team, and help with warehouse work when needed.

What you’ll do

• Move trailers between yard locations and dock doors, positioning them accurately for loading and unloading.
• Keep accurate records of trailer moves, locations, and times.
• Apply seals to loaded trailers and deliver load paperwork between trailers and the office.
• Communicate clearly by radio with team members, drivers, and carriers.
• Help verify trailer locations and support lot inventory.
• Operate a forklift and assist with other warehouse tasks as assigned.
• Keep work areas clean and report damage, safety concerns, or equipment issues promptly.

What you’ll need

• A valid driver’s license and CDL.
• A high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English to carry out the role safely.
• Strong attention to surroundings, clear communication, and the ability to follow written and radio instructions.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.

Experience operating a yard or spotter truck is preferred. Forklift certification, or a willingness to become certified, and basic computer or tablet skills are also helpful.

Requirements

Required

• Must be able to read, write, and understand English to perform job duties effectively and safely.
• Valid driver’s license required
• CDL required
• 1+ year experience operating a yard truck or spotter truck in a warehouse or manufacturing setting preferred.
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow radio and written instructions.
• Excellent situational awareness and commitment to safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer or tablet skills for log tracking and communication.
