Area Manager

The Area Manager plays a critical role in leading and optimizing the performance of multiple Immersive Gamebox venues across the United States. As a high-ranking US operations leader, this role drives operational excellence, enhances guest experiences, and improves revenue performance across all locations. The Area Manager oversees venue management, develops General Managers, and ensures smooth cross-functional collaboration with Marketing, HR, Technology team and all central partners. This role effectively co-leads US operations — ensuring business objectives are met while maintaining high standards of service and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Venue Management
- Oversee daily operations across multiple venues, ensuring each location consistently meets performance targets and IGB brand standards
- Implement strategic operational improvements to drive efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the guest experience across the portfolio
- Monitor and analyses venue KPIs; identify areas for improvement and take corrective action — including direct venue support when needed
- Act as the primary escalation point for venue-related issues, working cross-functionally to resolve operational challenges quickly
- Collaborate with UK and US leadership teams to align on best practices, policies, and standard operating procedures
Team & People Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of General Managers; foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and growth
- Conduct regular 1:1s with venue leadership to provide guidance, resolve challenges, and ensures alignment
- Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention efforts to ensure venues are staffed with high-performing teams focused on service, selling and in venue execution
- Serve as the bridge between venue teams and corporate leadership — ensuring clear communication and alignment on goals
- Identify succession candidates and support career development pathways within the venue operations structure
Revenue Growth & Guest Experience
- Partner with Marketing and Sales teams to increase pre-booked revenue, optimizing the balance between pre-booked and walk-up sessions
- Identify and execute strategies to improve guest experience and satisfaction, driving retention and positive word-of-mouth
- Lead local marketing activations, in-venue promotions, corporate event partnerships, and community engagement initiatives
- Support execution of key calendar-driven revenue events (Spring Break, holidays, city-wide events)
Financial & Performance Management
- Accountable for regional P&L performance; analyze venue financials, labor models, and operational expenditure to drive profitability
- Implement cost-control measures that balance financial efficiency with guest experience quality
- Manage and allocate travel budget for site visits, venue support, and company meetings
- Utilize data-driven insights to refine operational processes, improve business performance, and inform strategic decisions
- Provide strategic input on ticketing structures, pricing models, and venue scheduling to maximize efficiency
Qualifications & Skills
Required Experience
- 5+ years of multi-unit management experience, preferably in entertainment, hospitality, or retail operations
- Proven ability to drive operational efficiency and revenue growth across a multi-location business
- Experience managing remote teams and regional leadership structures across geographically dispersed venues
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven decision-making and P&L management
- Prior exposure to cross-functional collaboration across Marketing, HR, Technology, and product teams
Preferred Experience
- Background in location-based entertainment, experiential attractions, or technology-enabled consumer venues
- Experience supporting new venue openings and contributing to business expansion strategy
- Familiarity with ticketing systems, scheduling platforms, and operational reporting tools
