Director of Information Technology

Description

The Director of Information Technology is the senior Information Technology leader responsible for developing and executing the company’s enterprise technology strategy in alignment with Jonathan Louis’ business objectives. The Director provides leadership and governance across enterprise applications, technology architecture, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data and analytics, IT service delivery, technology investments, and strategic vendor relationships. The position partners with senior leadership and functional leaders translate business needs into scalable technology solutions and ensure the company’s technology environment is secure, reliable, integrated, cost-effective, and positioned to support future growth.

The Director leads the internal IT organization and external technology partners and is responsible for establishing technology standards, prioritizing investments, managing technology risk, developing the IT roadmap and budget, and ensuring successful execution of major technology initiatives.

The Director works closely with the Director of Manufacturing Systems & Digital Transformation to support manufacturing transformation. The Manufacturing Systems & Digital Transformation Director leads manufacturing business requirements, process improvement, adoption, and operational benefit realization, while IT retains responsibility for enterprise technology architecture, infrastructure, cybersecurity, integrations, technical governance, and IT standards.

Job Responsibilities:

· Develop and execute the company’s enterprise technology strategy and multi-year IT roadmap in alignment with business objectives and priorities. 

· Serve as a strategic technology advisor to executive leadership and functional leaders across the organization.

· Establish enterprise technology architecture, standards, policies, governance, and lifecycle strategies.

· Lead and develop the IT organization, establishing clear accountability, priorities, performance expectations, succession planning, and development of team members.

· Develop, manage, and track the annual IT operating and capital budgets and ensure technology resources and investments are effectively utilized.

· Maintain and prioritize the enterprise technology project portfolio based on business value, strategic importance, risk, resource requirements, and expected ROI. 

· Partner with business leaders to identify technology requirements and translate business needs into scalable, practical technology solutions. 

· Provide enterprise governance and technical oversight for ERP and other critical business applications, including architecture, integrations, security, availability, vendor management, lifecycle planning, and alignment with business requirements. 

· Partner with the Director of Manufacturing Systems & Digital Transformation to translate manufacturing business requirements into secure, scalable, integrated technology solutions while maintaining enterprise technology standards. 

· Establish and maintain the company’s cybersecurity strategy and governance, including technology risk management, security policies, identity and access governance, vulnerability management, security monitoring, incident response preparedness, third-party technology risk, and security awareness. 

· Ensure appropriate disaster recovery, backup, business continuity technology capabilities, testing, and recovery plans are established and maintained. 

· Provide leadership and governance over enterprise infrastructure, networks, cloud services, servers, telecommunications, end-user computing, and technology service delivery. 

· Establish performance expectations and metrics for system availability, service delivery, cybersecurity, infrastructure reliability, and IT operational performance.

· Establish enterprise data governance and technology standards supporting data quality, ownership, security, access, integration, analytics, and reporting. 

· Partner with business leaders to identify appropriate opportunities to leverage AI, automation, analytics, and emerging technologies, ensuring appropriate governance, security, scalability, and measurable business value. 

· Lead significant enterprise technology implementations and ensure appropriate project governance, resource planning, testing, change management, implementation, and post-implementation support. 

· Develop business cases and success measures for significant technology investments and report project progress, risks, financial performance, and realized results to executive leadership. 

· Own strategic technology vendor and managed-service relationships, including vendor selection, contracts, service levels, licensing, performance, cost optimization, risk, and long-term partnership decisions. 

· Ensure technology solutions comply with applicable legal, regulatory, customer, security, and company requirements. 

· Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and industry trends and recommend investments where they provide meaningful business value. 

· Partner across Operations, Manufacturing, Finance, HR, Sales, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, and other functions to ensure technology effectively supports company objectives.

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Technology, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred. Equivalent significant professional experience may be considered where appropriate. 

· 12+ years of progressive information technology experience, including 5+ years in IT leadership with responsibility for technology teams, enterprise systems, major projects, technology strategy, and budgets. 

· Demonstrated experience leading technology within a multi-site organization; manufacturing, distribution, or supply-chain experience strongly preferred. 

· Broad experience across enterprise applications/ERP, infrastructure/cloud technologies, cybersecurity, data and integrations, IT service delivery, disaster recovery, and vendor management. 

· Demonstrated ability to partner with executive and senior business leaders and translate business strategy and requirements into technology roadmaps and solutions. 

· Experience leading significant technology implementations, cross-functional projects, and organizational change.

· Demonstrated experience developing business cases, managing technology investments, prioritizing projects, and measuring business value and ROI.

· Strong understanding of cybersecurity risk management, technology governance, identity and access management, incident response, and disaster recovery. 

· Experience establishing or supporting enterprise data governance, analytics, and reporting environments. 

· Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 

· Demonstrated ability to develop teams, manage strategic vendors and influence across functions. 

· Strong understanding of project and portfolio management principles. 

· Experience with Infor Syteline/Cloud Suite, Microsoft technologies, Power BI/data platforms, manufacturing systems, and multi-site/international operations preferred. 

· Experience evaluating or implementing AI, automation, analytics, and emerging technologies, including appropriate governance and security, preferred. 

· Technical certifications and professional development appropriate to the company’s technology environment preferred. 

· Ability to travel to company manufacturing and operating locations as required.

· Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.
