Now we're looking for an Accounting Manager who holds the numbers behind that work to the same standard. 

As Accounting Manager, you'll own the full-cycle accounting function across Silver Falls Capital and its portfolio companies. You'll report to the Controller and direct the day-to-day work and outcomes of our accounting team. You'll lead through expertise, priorities, and accountability for results. You'll own the monthly close, keep every entity's financials accurate and GAAP-compliant, and help integrate new businesses as we acquire them.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close as the control owner, delivering complete, accurate, GAAP-compliant financial statements for every entity and as a consolidated group.

• Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts for the parent company and all portfolio companies.

• Review AR, AP, bank reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and intercompany activity.

• Maintain an effective internal control environment, including separation of duties, grants of authority, balance sheet reconciliations, and approval controls.

• Direct the accounting team's daily work, lead close standups, set priorities, and escalate issues to the Controller.

• Own federal, state, local, sales and use, property, cross-border, and business license filings.

• Serve as a key contact along with the Controller for external CPA firms on annual tax filings, reviews, and audits.

• Onboard newly acquired entities, align charts of accounts, assess control environments, and identify filing requirements.

• Build Standard Operating Procedures, standard work, and visual tools that track close status, open issues, AR, and AP.

• Use the Silver Falls Way, Lean, and AI tools to automate work, shorten close time, and improve accuracy.

• Partner with FP&A, operations, sales, procurement, HR, and legal on accounting accuracy and new initiatives.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

• CPA or advanced degree in accounting or finance.

• 7+ years of accounting experience, including directing the work of others and leading close processes.

• Direct experience with US GAAP reporting and tax reporting.

• Experience with inventory accounting, lease accounting, and recurring revenue models.

• Experience with acquisition accounting, consolidation, and integration.

• Experience in multi-entity environments and intercompany accounting.

• Experience working within, monitoring, and improving internal control environments.

• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Aptean, Oracle) and exceptional Excel skills.

• Experience working with Anthropic AI tools and implementing them into recuring workflows

• Experience working with external CPAs and serving audit/review projects

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement tools.

• Experience building AI tools, such as Claude, into recurring workflows.

• Experience working with external CPAs on audit and review projects.

Location: You'll work from our Monroe, WA headquarters every workday. Our work is hands-on.
