We are seeking applicants for the part-time position of Patient Services Support Representative to join our front desk team. This role serves as a liaison between patients, providers, and referring offices by greeting and assisting patients, answering phone calls, verifying insurance eligibility, updating patient information, collecting payments, scheduling appointments, processing referrals, and maintaining accurate patient records.

We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic, energetic, and passionate about providing excellent care to our patients while treating fellow coworkers with dignity and respect.


WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Greet patients, visitors, vendors, and callers in a courteous, professional, and customer-focused manner
  • Maintain effective communication with Scheduling Coordinators, Master Schedulers, providers, and other departments 
  • Answer and direct incoming calls in accordance with established telephone and quality assurance standards 
  • Intake patient requests for forms and medical records requests, directing them to the appropriate staff for completion 
  • Triage walk-in patients and schedule appointments as appropriate
  • Process and coordinate patient referrals 
  • Cover both check-in and check-out functions 
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation within the practice management system 

SCHEDULE: Part-time 20 hours per week (may jump to full-time hours temporarily to cover a leave of absence)

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  •  Exceptional customer service and communication skills 
  •  Ability to use or learn computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, internet, e-mail, and NextGen 
  •  Ability to manage stress and remain composed in a fast-paced environment 
  •  Bilingual in Spanish (preferred) 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Minimum of 2 years’ clerical or call center customer service experience in a medical setting 
  • Experience with NextGen (preferred)
