As a Canteen Manager in a school setting, you'll oversee daily operations of a sole operated site, you are responsible for opening & closing of the canteen, cash handling, cooking, food safety & lunch box system service using our online ordering app “Flexischools”. You'll represent Downer, ensuring high-quality service for clients, students, and staff while following our policies. 

What You’ll Do (key responsibilities)

This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:

• Build and maintain good relationships with clients.
• Handle client requests and concerns promptly.
• Manage the budget and monitor food and labour costs.
• Lead and motivate the team, ensuring a positive work environment.
• Food preparation and service

What You’ll Bring (experience required)

• Certificate of Commercial Cookery (desirable but not essential)
• Experience in managing food services and preparing special diets.
• Knowledge of food safety laws and a valid food handling certificate.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Computer literate
