Certifications
Alloy Engineering is a certified ASME Code Section I and Section VIII, Division I fabrication shop. Our welders are Certified AWS D1.1 and ASME Section IX. Our staff includes two certified AWS-CWI inspectors, one AWS-SCWI inspector and two AWS-CWS supervisors. Several members of our Quality Assurance Department are also certified in various NDT (nondestructive testing) processes per ASNT SNT TC-1a.
With these certifications, Alloy Engineering can develop all necessary or required weld procedures, depending on the application, to produce the highest quality welded, fabricated product and certify 100% compliance.
About the Role
Description
Alloy Engineering | Berea, OH| Full-Time
Alloy Engineering is looking for an experienced MIG & TIG Welder/Fabricator to join our production team. We build custom industrial equipment and fabrications using stainless steel, nickel alloys, and other specialty metals.
This is an opportunity for an experienced welder who enjoys custom fabrication, blueprint-driven work, precision fit-up, and challenging projects rather than repetitive production welding.
- Skilled in GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW welding processes.
- Can handle traditional projects and execute most fit-ups as per AECO's requirements.
- Proficient in advanced blueprint reading and interpretation of welding symbols.
- Operates independently on a routine basis, with reliable judgment.
- Ensures tasks are completed within the specified timeframes.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of professional welding/fabrication experience
- Strong MIG and TIG welding skills
- Experience in custom fabrication, heavy fabrication, or a job shop environment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and welding symbols
- Strong stainless steel welding experience
- Nickel alloy welding experience preferred
- Experience with precision measurement tools, including tape measures, calipers, and micrometers
- Strong fit-up and fabrication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Competencies and Attributes Needed:
- Ensure workmanship meets or surpasses ASME and AWS standards.
- Effective in following both written and verbal directions.
- Demonstrates accountability in independently managed projects, particularly for non-ASME tasks.
- Passionate about continuous learning and skill enhancement.
- Accountable for regular attendance and collaborative teamwork.
Physical Requirements:
- The position demands physical endurance, which encompasses:
- Predominantly standing.
- Occasional lifting (weights ranging from 25 to 50 pounds).
- Tasks may also involve pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, and reaching as required.
- A standard shift duration is ten hours daily.
- Safety requirements include wearing steel-toe boots and safety glasses.
