Global Institutional, Insurance Sales VP, Based in Seoul

Overview of the Role
Our Korea Institutional Sales team is seeking a VP to service our growing client base out of the Seoul office. The successful candidate would focus on developing and maintaining new and existing relationships with the firm’s insurance clients across the Korean market, whilst contributing more broadly with larger global relationships.
Working together with our locally appointed distributors in Korea, the role would offer an opportunity to develop our Insurance focus in the region, promoting a wide suite of products. The firm will support the successful candidate development with training in product knowledge, process & systems, relationship management and other key skills.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Manage key client relationships at a senior level with CIOs and portfolio managers to identify and diligently pursue new potential business, and retain existing business.
- Drive new revenue and new mandate generation across products and client types.
- Lead robust client and prospect meetings and engagement activity.
- Initiate brand building and sales activity with Insurance companies not currently engaged in discussions with Nuveen.
- Develop and execute strategy to uncover and develop mandates that will have the most commercial impact.
- Work collaboratively with partners within Nuveen to drive new business opportunities and solve complex client issues and challenges.
- Lead support staff on assigned client relationships to provide client service and implement sales strategy.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to the team’s overall development.
Technical Skills & Qualifications Required:
- Demonstrable track record within institutional sales with insurance clients.
- Established network of key decision makers within Insurance companies in Korea.
- Track record of building strong working partnerships and effectively managing client expectations.
- Solid product and investment knowledge in both public and private market strategies.
- Self-motivated individual, with the ability to take ownership to ensure outcomes are achieved.
- Excellent understanding of financial markets, investment vehicles and regulatory landscape in Korea.
- CFA/CAIA/CPA qualified preferable.
- Undergraduate degree required. Postgraduate degree preferable.
