Responsibilities and Qualifications

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Provide safe and reliable transportation to Agency clients and the general public as requested. Ensure passengers observe safety procedures.
2. Provide assistance to riders entering and exiting the vehicle; operate wheelchair lift when necessary. 
3. Plan route to ensure the most economical use of time and equipment.
4. Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment. Document results to assist with lifecycle management of the fleet. 
5. Clean equipment as time permits. 
6. Document vehicle usage on trip log daily.
7. Maintain and advance knowledge and skills related specifically to position or to field of work through regular review of pertinent materials or participation in training events as approved by supervisor.
8. Adhere to the standards, policies and instructions established by PMHS Policy and Procedure and any applicable ethical codes within field of employment. 
9. Review and comply with the Pawnee Code of Conduct outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Maintenance Specialist Only

10. Assist the Transportation Team Leader with the basic vehicle maintenance to ensure vehicles are mechanically sound and can be operated in a safe manner. 

Requirements

Qualifications:

Required:

• Valid Kansas Driver’s License and automobile liability insurance maintained in accordance with Pawnee policy and procedure.
• 4+ years of independent driving experience.
• Oral and written communication skills using the English language.

Preferred:

• Demonstrated knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
• Public transportation experience.
