Position Overview

Prospera Housing Community Services is seeking a Temporary Maintenance Technician II to provide maintenance support for the Elliott Grant and Jefferine Lytle apartment communities. 

This position is intended to support property operations during an ongoing management transition and is expected to continue through approximately November 30, 2026. Continuation of employment beyond that date is dependent upon the continuation of Prospera's management responsibilities at these communities.

The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining safe, sanitary, and habitable housing conditions while assisting with resident service requests, preventative maintenance, inspections, unit turns, and regulatory compliance requirements.

Essential Duties

• Complete service requests and work orders in a timely manner.
• Perform general maintenance including: 
  • Plumbing repairs
  • Electrical troubleshooting
  • HVAC maintenance and repairs
  • Carpentry repairs
  • Painting and drywall repairs
  • Door and lock repairs
  • Flooring repairs
• Complete preventive maintenance inspections.
• Assist with unit turns and make-ready activities.
• Maintain grounds and common areas as needed.
• Document all work performed using company maintenance software and required paperwork.
• Support compliance with HUD, TDHCA, NSPIRE, local code, and owner requirements.
• Respond to maintenance emergencies as assigned.
• Work collaboratively with property management staff and residents.
• Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Minimum two years of apartment maintenance experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• EPA Certification preferred.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliance repair.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical maintenance activities.

Transportation Requirements

This position serves two separate apartment communities.

Applicants must possess:

• A valid driver's license.
• Current automobile insurance.
• Reliable personal transportation.
• Ability to travel between Elliott Grant and Jefferine Lytle as required during the workday.
