Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our team at Electric Mirror. This position will be responsible for the welding of cold-rolled sheet steel and deburring, sanding, cutting, and grinding parts for the next stage of production in a precision sheet metal fabrication shop. You will also assist coworkers with other shop tasks and machine operations as production schedules require.
Responsibilities
- Deburring/grinding of welds as appropriate
- Operates a variety of welding equipment both TIG (in aluminum / stainless / cold-rolled steel) and MIG
- Inspect welds for accuracy and quality assurance
- Hand Rolling small parts of thin gage material
- Rework/repair as needed
- Demonstrate mechanical knowledge in troubleshooting welding issues
- Other metal fabrication duties as assigned by supervisor
Requirements
Qualifications
- Knowledge is required in welding and fabrication of product, sub-assemblies and components for production
- Proficiency in various welding techniques and equipment
- Welding symbols: ability to read and understand welding drawings, quality control, and safety
- Ability to work with precision and attention to detail
- Strong understanding of safety protocols in a manufacturing environment
- Must be able to read, evaluate, and respond to product specifications and drawings, and perform normal math calculations easily
- Must be familiar and comfortable with various machinery
- Must have strong general mechanical skills
- A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift, pull or push up to 50 lbs.; anything over 50 lbs. is to be assisted
- Be on your feet 8-10 hours per day
- Must demonstrate good hand/eye coordination and good manual dexterity
- Must be able to repetitively use arms, hands, and fingers in the manipulation of parts
Schedule & Compensation
- Monday – Thursday, 6:00am – 4:30pm
- Job Type: Full-time
- Expected hours: 40 per week
- Pay: $27.00 - $30.00 / hour
