About the Role:

The Adult Mental Health Day Service (AMHDS) delivers recovery-focused interventions to people living in the community, supporting them to enhance their quality of life, improve functional outcomes, and engage in meaningful daily activities.

As an Occupational Therapist within AMHDS, you will apply specialist occupational therapy knowledge and skills to deliver evidence-based therapeutic group interventions that promote recovery, wellbeing, and participation for people living with moderate to severe mental illness.

Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality occupational therapy assessments and interventions using established clinical approaches to support consumers to live as independently as possible while maintaining meaningful and productive life roles. You will contribute to collaborative recovery planning by engaging consumers, carers, children, Nominated Persons, and other service providers as required. The role also involves maintaining accurate clinical records and administrative data, participating in risk management processes, and supporting the safe and effective delivery of the broader group program.

You will exercise independent professional judgement in managing moderately complex clinical work while receiving professional supervision and guidance for more complex matters. The role offers ongoing opportunities for clinical supervision, professional development, and performance growth within a supportive allied health environment.
