About the Role
Misión
We are seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join B-Global Tech's MEP Team, specialising in the design and delivery of mission-critical data centre facilities across the APAC region.
As a technical leader for B-Global Tech's data centre practice, you will play a key role in driving mechanical design excellence, representing our expertise to clients and industry partners, and contributing to the continued growth of our data centre business. You will lead the mechanical design of complex data centre projects within multidisciplinary teams, leveraging your extensive experience in delivering world-class facilities for hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise clients.

Beyond project delivery, you will help shape our engineering standards, mentor and develop technical talent, strengthen client relationships, and contribute to the evolution of our design capabilities. What will be your responsibilities?
Technical Leadership & Design Excellence- Lead the mechanical design of mission-critical data centre projects, providing technical direction and ensuring solutions meet the highest standards of reliability, efficiency, maintainability, and sustainability.
- Lead design reviews and resolve complex engineering challenges through innovative and practical solutions. Identify technical risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure successful project outcomes.
- Serve as the mechanical engineering authority for data centre infrastructure, including HVAC systems, chilled water plants, cooling technologies, plumbing systems, controls integration, redundancy strategies, and operational resilience.
- Drive the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of B-Global Tech's engineering standards, design methodologies, and best practices. Review and approve design deliverables to ensure technical excellence and consistency across projects.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to clients, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders. Lead technical discussions, design workshops, and presentations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate closely with electrical, controls, civil, ICT, structural, and architectural teams to deliver fully integrated data centre solutions that meet client objectives and operational requirements.
- Provide technical leadership across multiple concurrent projects, ensuring designs are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project requirements, industry standards, and regulatory codes.
- Support commissioning activities, site inspections, factory acceptance testing, and technical due diligence reviews to ensure systems perform as intended and align with the original design objectives.
- Mentor and develop engineers within the MEP team, fostering technical growth, knowledge sharing, and a culture of engineering excellence.
- Contribute technical expertise to proposals, client presentations, tender submissions, and business development activities, helping strengthen B-Global Tech's position within the data centre market.
- Stay at the forefront of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in data centre design. Share insights internally and externally, helping drive innovation and continuous improvement across the business.
This is the profile we are looking for
Education & Professional Experience- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering design consultancy, with significant experience delivering large-scale data centres, mission-critical facilities, or other complex infrastructure projects.
- Experience working with clients, developers, consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams across all phases of project delivery.
Technical Expertise
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems supporting high-availability and mission-critical environments.
- Ability to review, guide, and influence mechanical designs, specifications, commissioning strategies, technical standards, and engineering deliverables.
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, safety practices, international codes, and industry standards relevant to data centre design.
Leadership & Problem Solving
- Demonstrated ability to independently resolve complex engineering challenges and make sound technical decisions.
- Proven ability to mentor, develop, and elevate the technical capability of engineering teams.
- Experience providing technical leadership on complex, multidisciplinary projects.
Communication & Stakeholder Management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
- Strong presentation, technical documentation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver successful outcomes across concurrent APAC projects in a fast-paced environment.
