Since 1995, Christ Community Health Services (CCHS) has provided high-quality healthcare to underserved communities through distinctively Christian service. As a faith-based Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we serve approximately 60,000 patients each year across our Memphis health centers, offering primary care, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, and specialty services.

About the Role

Christ Community Health Services is seeking a welcoming, organized Dental Registration Representative to support patient access and front-office operations within our dental department. This position greets patients, maintains accurate registration and insurance information, collects payments, schedules services, and responds to incoming calls.

As one of the first people patients encounter, the Dental Registration Representative helps create a respectful and efficient experience while supporting accurate billing, smooth clinic flow, and access to high-quality dental care.

What You'll Do

  • Greet patients courteously and help create a welcoming dental-clinic experience.
  • Assist patients with completing registration forms and obtaining required information.
  • Collect and update patient demographic information in the practice-management system accurately and promptly.
  • Verify insurance coverage, submit insurance pre-authorizations, and complete related insurance responsibilities.
  • Establish the appropriate method of payment and collect copayments, deductibles, insurance payments, and sliding-fee payments as applicable.
  • Schedule outpatient tests and procedures ordered by providers in accordance with insurance-company guidelines.
  • Complete Daily Activity Reports at the end of each business day.
  • Count collected funds and reconcile the cash drawer at the end of each business day.
  • Answer telephone calls for the dental department and transfer callers efficiently to the appropriate person or service.
  • Respond to patient questions when possible and direct questions requiring additional assistance to the appropriate team member.
  • Protect patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements and organizational policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support dental-clinic operations and patient care.

What You'll Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bilingual proficiency sufficient to communicate clearly and professionally with patients.
  • Two to four years of clerical experience, preferably in a medical or dental setting.
  • Strong customer-service, telephone, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to enter patient information accurately and maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience with insurance verification, preauthorization, scheduling, payment collection, or medical-office workflows is preferred.
  • Dental Assistant credential preferred.
  • Current CPR certification preferred.
  • Medical Billing and Coding Certificate preferred.

  • Registration, demographic, insurance, and payment information is complete and accurate.
  • Insurance verification and preauthorization tasks are completed promptly to support patient access and billing accuracy.
  • Appointments, tests, and procedures are scheduled accurately and in accordance with provider and payer requirements.
  • Payments, cash drawers, and daily activity reports are handled accurately and reconciled at the end of the business day.
  • Telephone calls and patient questions are handled professionally and directed to the appropriate resource without unnecessary delay.
  • Patient information remains confidential and secure.
  • The Christian mission and values of CCHS are reflected in daily interactions and work practices.

Work Environment

This position operates in a dental-clinic and front-office environment and involves regular interaction with patients, family members, providers, and administrative staff. The role requires frequent use of computers, telephones, practice-management systems, office equipment, payment-processing equipment, and cash-management procedures.

The employee may have routine exposure to patients with infectious or contagious illnesses and must follow applicable safety, infection-control, privacy, and organizational requirements.
